GRANDMA'S BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES | |
1 gallon sliced cucumbers 8 sm. sliced onions 1/2 c. salt Mix the above ingredients well; then add ice cubes over top and soak 3 hours. Then drain. Add: 5 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric 1 tsp. celery salt 1/2 tsp. ground cloves 2 tbsp. mustard seed Heat the above to boiling, but do not boil. Put in sterilized jars and seal. Makes 12 pints. |
