1 chocolate cake mix
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg with dash salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Mix cake mix according to package directions. Fill paper baking cups in muffin pans 2/3 full.

Cream cheese with sugar. Beat in egg and salt. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop 1 rounded teaspoon of cheese mixture in each cupcake. Bake at 350 degrees about 35 minutes. Makes 30 cupcakes. Use caramel icing if desired.
