GERMAN FILLED STREUSEL CAKE 
FILLING:

1 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
4 tbsp. flour
4 tbsp. butter, softened

Mix together with fork.

CAKE:

3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
6 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla (I use 4)
2 eggs
1 c. milk

Mix filling in bowl and set aside.

Cake: Put all ingredients in large bowl. Mix egg and milk together, then pour in bowl with other ingredients. Mix on medium speed, until all mixed together. Fill pan with 1/2 batter and spread over bottom, then put 1/2 or a little more of filling on top of dough. Drop rest of batter on and spread and top with rest of filling. Grease and flour pan, 9 x 13 inches. Bake 30 minutes at 350-375 degrees.
