HICKORY NUT CAKE WITH FILLING 
1 prepared white cake mix
1/2 c. chopped hickory nuts

FILLING:

1 egg
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped hickory nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Cake: Mix 1/2 cup chopped hickory nuts in prepared white cake batter. Bake according to box instructions in two eight inch round layer pans. Cool completely.

Filling: Cook over medium heat until thick egg, sugar, cornstarch and milk. Then add chopped hickory nuts and vanilla. Cool. Spread filling between 2 layers. Frost with fluffy icing or cream cheese icing.
