CHOCOLATE WINE CAKE 
1 3/4 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
3/4 c. dry red wine
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. fine dry bread crumbs
6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
6 eggs, separated

Combine nuts, wine, sugar, crumbs and chocolate chips in saucepan. Cook over low heat until mixture thickens. This will take about 10-15 minutes. Cool. Separate eggs. Beat whites until stiff. Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Stir cooled chocolate mixture into egg yolks. Fold in egg whites gently.

Grease two 8 x 8 inch pans and line bottoms with waxed paper, which has also been greased. Pour batter into pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until a tester comes out clean. Cool before removing from pans.
