RED BEANS AND RICE 
1 lb. kidney beans
1 ham bone or leftover ham
6 c. water
2 lbs good link sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. Worcestershire
1 bay leaf, broken
3 c. cooked rice

Wash beans and take out any bad ones. Soak overnight, drain and rinse in cold water.

In large pan on top of stove, add all ingredients except rice. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; reduce heat to simmer. Cover and cook slowly for several hours, stirring occasionally. Serve hot over rice. Serves 6-8 people.
