BASIC TOMATO MARINARA SAUCE | |
2 cans whole tomatoes (Tuttorosso brand preferred) Oil 2 garlic cloves, sliced 2 tsp. parsley 2 tsp. basil 1 bay leaf 1 tsp. black pepper 2 tsp. Locatella Romano cheese 1. In a large sauce pot brown 2 sliced cloves of garlic in oil (enough to cover bottom of 6 quart pot). 2. Do not burn garlic. 3. Discard browned garlic. 4.Add 2 cans of whole tomatoes that have been thoroughly pureed in blender. 5. Season with 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 bay leaf, 2 teaspoons basil, 2 teaspoons parsley and 2 teaspoons cheese. 6. Cook 20 minutes on low-medium burner. |
