MERINGUE KISSES 
3 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. peppermint (optional)
Dash of salt
30 chocolate kisses
1 c. sugar

Beat eggs until they reach soft peaks. Add vanilla, cream of tartar, peppermint and salt, beat. Add sugar a little at a time until mixture is glossy and reaches stiff peaks. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheet. Push candy kisses into each one, take knife and swirl batter on kisses and sprinkle with decorating sugar. Bake for 30 minutes at 275 degrees.
