ENGLISH MUFFIN BREAD 
1 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
5 1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. butter
1 c. warm water
3 tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. dry yeast
Corn meal

Scald milk; add butter, sugar, salt and cool to lukewarm. Into mixing bowl; put 2 cups flour, yeast, 1 cup warm water and milk mixture. Beat well. Add remaining flour, then knead 3-4 minutes. Place in greased bowl (roll dough to coat lightly) and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour). Punch down and divide into 3 equal balls. Put each in a well greased, and dusted with cornmeal, 1 pound coffee can.

Let rise again until it reaches the top, about 30 minutes. Bake in 400 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Remove from cans to cool.
