CHOCOLATE - CHERRY THUMBPRINTS 
3/4 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. pkg. chocolate morsels
2 c. quick Quaker oats
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch salt
2 (10 oz.) jars Maraschino cherries, drained

Beat together the first 4 ingredients. Add half of the chocolate morsels, melted. Mix well. Stir in the oats, flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover. Chill dough 1 or 2 hours. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press centers of dough with thumb. Place a cherry in each indentation. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool, then drizzle with the other half of melted chocolate morsels. Makes 4 dozen.
