“DATE-NUT ROLL” IS IN:

DATE-NUT ROLL 
3 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1 lb. dates
1 cup pecans

Combine sugar and milk; bring to a boil.

Add dates. Cook until it forms a firm ball when dropped in cold water (244-248°F on candy thermometer).

Beat until cool. Add nuts, Stir until it will spread on a wet cloth.

Roll; let set until firm. Slice thin to serve.

Cooks Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended.

Makes 2 pounds.
