EVA MAE'S CHOW CHOW | |
1 qt. chopped cucumbers 1 qt. chopped green tomatoes 1 qt. chopped green cabbage 2 lg. chopped onions 4 or more chopped green peppers Soak overnight in salt water (not too salty). Next morning drain and squeeze out all the water you can without bruising the vegetables. Mix: 2 tbsp. mixed spices 5 c. sugar Bring vinegar to a boil with spices (tied in a cloth) and sugar. Put in vegetables and boil for about 10 minutes. Have jars clean and hot. Put chow in jars, wipe tops, and seal. |
