2 c. butter
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
7 c. flour
4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients together and chill dough for 3 hours. Roll out on floured table for cutouts.

Bake 6 to 8 minutes at 375°F. Cool before icing.
