STUFFED ACORN SQUASH 
1 sm. acorn squash cut in half lengthwise
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
2 sm. apples

Salt cavity slightly and arrange cut side down on a pie plate. Add a little water to pan and bake uncovered at 350 degrees until tender. Add a little water if pan becomes dry. Peel and slice apples; add sugar and butter and simmer until tender. Spoon apple mixture into squash halves and sprinkle with nutmeg. Return to oven for about 20 minutes. Serves 2.
