SOFT BANANA COOKIES 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. wheat germ
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 c. softened butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. grated orange peel
2 bananas, mashed
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. raisins

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine flour, wheat germ, salt, baking soda and nutmeg. Beat butter, sugar and egg with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in orange peel. Add flour mixture alternately with bananas. Stir until blended. Stir in nuts and raisins.

Drop by tablespoonfuls, 3 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 30 cookies.
