1/4 c. shortening
3/8 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped apple
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and beat well (2 minutes). Add dry ingredients with the milk. Fold in the apples, nuts and vanilla. Fill paper lined cupcake pan 2/3 full. Sprinkle topping on top of cupcakes before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
