MERINGUE BARS (MAGYAR) 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter, soft
2 egg yolks
1 c. chopped nuts

MERINGUE:

2 egg whites
1 c. light brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour, sugar, salt, stir in vanilla, butter, egg yolks. Pat mixture in a large cookie sheet 10 x 12. Sprinkle with walnuts. Beat egg whites until stiff gradually adding sugar. Fold in vanilla. Spread over nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cut in squares or diamonds when cool.
