BANANA NUT LOAF | |
2/3 c. sugar 1/3 c. soft shortening 2 eggs 3 tbsp. buttermilk 1 c. mashed ripe bananas 2 c. sifted Martha White self-rising flour 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. chopped nuts Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan. Mix together thoroughly sugar, shortening and eggs. Stir in buttermilk, mashed bananas and flour; then stir in soda and fold in chopped nuts. Turn batter into prepared pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove and cool completely. |
