SWEET AND SOUR CABBAGE 
1 head cabbage
1 onion, diced
1/4 c. water
3 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
6 slices of bacon

Slice cabbage and parboil in boiling water for about 5 minutes. (Cabbage should still be crisp.) Saute the bacon. Remove and crumble. Reserve the bacon drippings. Saute onion in the drippings.

Add water, sugar and vinegar. Heat through about 5 minutes or until desired tenderness. Add salt and pepper to taste.
