GINGERBREAD 
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar

Sift above together.

Add:

1/2 c. melted shortening or oil
1 c. molasses
1 egg, well beaten

Mix well together (will be thick); lastly add 1 c. boiling water; bake at 350°F for approximately 25-30 minutes in a loaf pan; it's excellent.
