CINNAMON LOAF COFFEE RING | |
2 c. scalded milk 2 pkg. yeast 1 c. Crisco 1/2 c. sugar 3 beaten eggs About 6 c. flour Scald milk and cool to warm. Dissolve yeast in warm water to which 1 teaspoon sugar has been added. Cram the Crisco and sugar. Add salt and well beaten eggs. Add yeast, milk and mix well. Add rest of flour. Needs to be soft dough (not stiff). Put in a well greased pan. Let rise. Punch down and let rise again. Roll 1/2 of dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter. Dip each round in melted butter then in the sugar cinnamon mixture. CINNAMON MIXTURE: 2 c. sugar 2 tbsp. cinnamon Stand on end in tube pan. Let rise. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 2 rings. |
