CHOCOLATE PECAN-PIE BARS | |
1 1/4 c. all purpose flour 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 c. butter 1 c. finely chopped pecans 1/4 c. butter 1 sq. (1 oz.) semi sweet chocolate 3 beaten eggs 1 1/4 c. packed brown sugar 2 tbsp. bourbon or water 1 tsp. vanilla In a mixing bowl stir together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and cinnamon. Cut in the 1/2 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in pecans. Press into bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan combine the 1/4 cup butter and chocolate; heat and stir over low heat until chocolate is melted. In a small mixing bowl combine the eggs, brown sugar, bourbon or water and vanilla. Stir mixture until well blended, pour over crust. Return to oven. Bake 20 minutes more or until set. Cool on wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes 36. |
