TIN CAN ICE CREAM 
1 c. milk
1 c. whipping cream
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Nuts or fruit (optional)

Place all ingredients into a 1 pound coffee can with a lid. Place inside a larger can. Pack crushed ice around the smaller can, then pour at least 3/4 cup rock salt evenly over the ice. Place lid on larger can. Lay large can on its side on the flour and roll back and forth between 2 people (having fun) for 10 minutes. Time it! Open large can and wipe salt and ice from smaller lid. Remove lid from smaller can, stir and scrape inside of small can. Replace small lid, drain ice and water. Re-pack with ice and salt. Roll for 5 minutes. Makes 3 cups.
