SOUTHERN PECAN - PRALINES 
2 c. light brown sugar
2 c. white sugar
Pinch of salt
1 (12 oz.) lg. can evaporated milk
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. pecan halves

Combine sugars, salt and milk. Heat and stir over medium heat until sugars are dissolved and mixture comes to a boil. Cook to soft ball stage, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and pecans, then beat by hand about 2 to 3 minutes. Drop by large spoonfuls on buttered foil or cookie sheet lined with waxed paper. Add a little tap water if candy becomes too stiff to spoon.
