GRANDMA'S APPLE DUMPLINGS 
SYRUP:

1 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. butter

TOPPING:

cinnamon and sugar
finely chopped apple

DOUGH:

2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. shortening
2/3 c. milk
Dash of salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix dough ingredients together well. Roll out. Cover with finely chopped apple. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Roll up and cut in 1 1/2 inch slices. Place side by side in 9 x 13 inch pan. Cover with hot syrup. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes. Serves 8.
