TURTLE CAKE | |
1 pkg. Duncan Hines devils food cake mix 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels 3/4 c. butter 1/4 c. evaporated milk 1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips 1 c. walnuts Prepare cake mix according to directions on package. Pour 1/2 batter into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 15 minutes. In top of double boiler melt caramels, butter, and evaporated milk. Cook, stirring until mixture is smooth and caramels are melted. Pour over hot cake. Sprinkle on chips and nuts. Pour remaining cake batter over top. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool completely. Cut into bars. Wrap in wax paper and freeze. Serve frozen. |
