HOLLY BARS 
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. soft shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 c. rolled oats
1 c. chopped dates
1/4 c. chopped red candied cherries
1 c. chopped nuts

Place first eight ingredients in a bowl. Beat hard for 2 minutes with electric mixer. Stir in oats, nuts, dates and fruit. Spread in a well greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Frost and decorate.
