PRALINES 
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 lb. butter
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook all ingredients, except pecans and vanilla, to soft ball stage (240°F).

Cool. Add pecans and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Drop by teaspoonfuls on waxed paper.
