SOUTH TEXAS PECAN PRALINES 
1 lg. can evaporated Pet milk
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. pecans

Mix everything but pecans together. Cook over low to medium heat until candy mixture begins to boil and reaches hard ball candy stage. (Test hard ball candy stage by dropping 1/2 teaspoonful of candy mixture in cold water. It is ready when candy no longer dissolves in water, but stays firm.)
