CARAMEL CANDY 
6 c. sugar
1 pt. half & half
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 qt. pecans

Place 4 cups sugar in boiler. Add half and half. Bring to a boil. Brown remaining 2 cups sugar in pan on another burner. Sugar should be brown by the time first mixture comes to a boil. Pour brown sugar into boiler. Cook to soft ball stage. Add butter, vanilla and pecans. Beat until almost cool. Pour into dish. Yields: about 2 pounds.
