1 lb. ground beef 1 tbsp. shortening 1 lb. can tomatoes 2 tsp. salt Dash of pepper 1/2 c. chopped onion 2 c. hot water 1/4 c. Heinz 57 sauce 1 tsp. sugar 4 oz. uncooked macaroni Brown ground beef and onion in shortening. Drain off excess fat. Cut tomatoes into bite size pieces. Stir in water and the rest of the ingredients, mix well. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until macaroni is tender. Garnish with minced parsley, if desired. Makes 5 servings. |
