CINNAMON ORANGE ROLLS | |
1 c. milk 1/3 c. butter 3/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. grated orange rind 1 pkg. dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 1 egg 4 c. flour (all-purpose) 2 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. cinnamon 1 c. butter, melted 3/4 c. grated pecans Warm milk in a saucepan with 1/3 cup butter. butter does not have to melt. Place in a large mixing bowl and add sugar, salt and orange rind. Mix. Add yeast to warm water until dissolved. Add yeast and egg to original mixture and blend. Gradually add flour until a soft dough is formed. Place dough on floured board and knead for about 15 minutes. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise until doubled in size. Remove from bowl and cut in half. Roll out half into a rectangle. Sift brown sugar with cinnamon. Brush rectangle with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar mixture. Roll up rectangle jelly roll style and slice into 1" slices. Place slices into greased muffin tins and bake at 375 degrees until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Remove from tins and sprinkle with grated pecans. Spoon orange glaze over tops. ORANGE GLAZE: 1 c. orange juice 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. sugar Combine all ingredients and boil for one minute. |
