CREAM CHEESE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Cherries, (candied or Maraschino), or fresh nut halves

Cream butter and cream cheese slowly. Add sugar, beat until fluffy. Beat in egg yolk, add flour and vanilla. Mix well. Chill 1 hour. Shape into 1 inch balls, place on greased cookie sheet, press cherry or nut on top. Cook at 325 degrees until tan around edges.
