GRANDMA'S CASSEROLE 
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. chopped onion
1 green pepper, chopped
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 can whole tomatoes (1 lb. 12 oz.)
1 sm. can tomato sauce
2 c. water
1 pkg. wide noodles
Mozzarella cheese

Saute onion and green pepper in the butter. Add the ground beef; brown. Drain well. Add salt, pepper and sugar. Stir in tomatoes and tomato sauce. Add water. Heat mixture to boiling; reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.

Into a 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan layer uncooked noodles on bottom. Pour the tomato meat mixture, over the noodles. Top with cheese. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes and cut and serve like lasagna.
