1 lg. onion, finely chopped 2 lbs. hamburger 1 pkg. (16 oz.) elbow macaroni 1 can (4 1/2 oz.) mushrooms 24 oz. tomato sauce A generous pound of sharp yellow cheese grated and even a little more if you like 1 tbsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper Saute onion until tender, add hamburger. Cook until no longer pink. Drain. Cook macaroni until tender, drain. Add hamburger, mushrooms with liquid, tomato sauce and 3/4 cheese. Pour into small casseroles and sprinkle with remaining cheese. When casseroles are frozen they will cook in approximately 1 hour at 375 degrees with lid off the last 15 minutes. If baked immediately without freezing, 30 minutes at 350 degrees will do it. |
