RELISH 
1 peck green tomatoes, ground
1 head cabbage, med. size
6 onions, ground
3 green peppers, ground
3 red peppers, ground
6 c. sugar
2 tbsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seed
1 stick cinnamon
Whole cloves
Turmeric, optional

Grind tomatoes, sprinkle with salt and let stand overnight. Drain well. Add cabbage, cut fine, and boil in 2 quarts of weakened vinegar (to each 1/2 quart plus, add enough water to make a quart) for 1/2 hour. Add ground vegetables, celery seed, mustard seed, sugar and spices (cinnamon and cloves tied in a bag). Cook until tender, pack in jars and seal.
