TEXAS 12 BEAN SOUP 
1 1/2 c. mixed beans
2 qts. water
1 lb. ham, cubed
1 med. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 can Rotel tomatoes
Dash of sage (opt.)

Wash and soak beans overnight in water. Add salt and pepper and cook 2 hours in this water. Add other ingredients and simmer 2 more hours.
