2 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
1 c. unseasoned hot mashed potatoes
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. each cinnamon & nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk

Cream sugar and shortening. Beat in eggs one at a time beating each thoroughly. Beat in vanilla and potatoes swift drying and beat into egg mixture alternately with milk. Bake in 2 greased 9" layer pans or greased 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.
