GRANDMA'S JAM OR JELLY CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
3 eggs
3 c. all purpose flour
1 1/2 c. jam or jelly
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
Dash of salt

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time and jam; mix. Sift flour, spices, soda and salt together. Add milk and dry ingredients alternately in mixture. Place in a greased and floured cake pan and bake for about 55 minutes at 350 degrees.
