VANILLA CARAMELS 
1 stick butter, melted in saucepan
1 jar Karo, red label
2 c. sugar
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Step 1: Combine butter, Karo syrup and sugar in pan and bring to boil. Slowly pour in (stirring constantly) sweetened condensed milk.

Step 2: Cook until medium ball forms in cold water.

Step 3: Add vanilla and nuts.

Step 4: Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan to harden.

Step 5: Cut into caramel size pieces and wrap each piece in waxed paper.
