1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar, granulated
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, save 1 white
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream the sugar and butter. Beat the eggs and add. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix well with sugar and butter, then add the vanilla and nuts. This makes a stiff batter. Whip the egg white and slowly fold into the batter and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in a buttered pan. Cut while warm into squares.
