BURGER CHEESE BAKE 
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/4 -1/2 lb. pork sausage (optional)
1/2 c. onion, chopped
3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 tsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt (optional)
1/4 tsp. pepper
1-2 cloves garlic, pressed
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 c. egg noodles, uncooked
1 c. Cottage cheese, drained
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. sour cream
1/4 c. green onion, finely chopped
1/4 c. green pepper, finely chopped
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese

In large fry pan, brown beef, sausage (optional) broken up and onion. Stir in next 6 ingredients and heat through. Reduce heat to just a simmer. Prepare the noodles and drain well.

In medium sized bowl, combine the Cottage cheese (or Ricotta), cream cheese, sour cream, green onions and bell pepper. Stir to blend the mixture well. Lightly butter a 2-3 quart casserole dish and spread 1/2 of noodles on bottom. Top noodles with 1/2 of meat mixture. Lower meat sauce with cheese mixture. Add remaining 1/2 of noodles and again cover with remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over all. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serves 6-8.
