BUTTERMILK BISCUITS 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. buttermilk

Combine first 5 ingredients mixing well. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead lightly, 8 to 10 times. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter. Place biscuits onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 425 degrees for 10 minutes until brown.
