"THIS IS IT" MEAT LOAF 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork
1/2 lb. ground veal
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 c. finely chopped onion
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp. dry or prepared mustard
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. cracker crumbs
3/4 c. tomato juice or 1 sm. can sauce
6 strips bacon
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce

Using your hands, mix all ingredients but bacon and tomato sauce together in a large bowl. Fluff the mixture rather than compressing it. Put into a loaf 8 x 10 inches long and 4 inches high.

Place in a shallow casserole (with rim to hold drippings). Cover the top with bacon drips and pour tomato sauce evenly over loaf. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 1/4 hours. Skim off accumulated fat. Serves 6-8 people. Bacon and tomato sauce optional. Does well without. Use 9 x 13 inch pan. Very good!
