ENGLISH ALMOND TOFFEE 
2 c. sugar
1 lb. butter
1 c. slivered almonds
6 reg. size Hershey bars
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Put butter in pan and start melting. Add almonds and sugar. (Put candy thermometer in pan right away.) Stir continuously until thermometer reaches 300 degrees. Pour on foiled lined cookie sheet. Spread Hershey bars on top, then sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Cool and break into pieces.
