GRANDMA C.'S REAL MINCE MEAT 
2 lbs. lean beef (or venison) cooked & chopped in sm. pieces
1 lb. suet
6 lbs. apple, peeled, cored & chopped
2 oranges, seedless, finely grate skins & chop pulp
2 lbs. currants
2 lbs. golden raisins
4 lbs. dark raisins
1/2 lb. citron
6 c. brown sugar
4 c. sweet cider
4 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. each allspice, cinnamon & salt
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger

Mix all together and simmer on low for about 2 hours. Can be packed into Ball jars. However, I pack mine after cooling into freezer containers, measuring 1 pie filling into each container. This makes enough for 20 pies.
