CORN BREAD 
2 c. cornmeal, plain
1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 lg. egg
Buttermilk, enough to make a pouring mixture

Mix all ingredients together and just before you put into hot pan to bake, pour approximately 3 tablespoons of hot bacon drippings into the mixture. Mix, then bake at 450 degrees until brown.
