3/4 c. ground cinnamon
1 tbsp. allspice
2 tbsp. cloves
1 tbsp. nutmeg
1 c. applesauce

1/8 or 1/4 inch ribbon

Combine first 4 ingredients, blending well. Stir in applesauce; mix well (mixture will be stiff). Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness on an ungreased cookie sheet. Using small or medium size cookie cutters, cut dough into the desired shapes. Peel away the excess dough and reroll as necessary. To make hole to put ribbon though, use a straw to make the hole. Let ornaments dry, uncovered, for 4 to 5 days. Yield: 25 small ornaments or 18 medium size ornaments. I found putting them on cooling racks, they dry better.
