SNOWBALL OATMEAL COOKIES 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. oatmeal
Powdered sugar for rolling

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs, add sifted dry ingredients. Add vanilla and oatmeal, one cup at a time and mix well. Chill several hours. Form dough into small balls and roll in powdered sugar. Do not flatten balls.

Bake 10 minutes at 375°F. Cookies will not look done, but they will be.
