AUNT SHIRLEY'S POTATOES | |
Russet or baking potatoes Melted butter and/or vegetable oil Garlic powder Wash potatoes well. Leave skins on. Slice crosswise into thin slices, no more that 1/4 inch thick. Preheat oven to 350 to 400 degrees F. Spray a shallow baking sheet (jelly roll type pan approximately 10 1/2x15x1 inch) with Pam or other similar type spray. Place one layer of potato slice on pan, sprinkle lightly with garlic powder, then drizzle with 1 to 2 tablespoons butter or oil. Repeat with a second layer. Can have up to 3 layers, but 2 layers gives a crispier texture. Bake until lightly browned, or to your taste. Takes about 20 minutes or so. Timing depends on oven temperature and potato thickness. |
